SUMMER’S LAST DAYS

9 sept 2011    >  /13/4/0  >   Death/Emperor/ Fool

What ‘new skin’ is forming around you as you transform yourself into Autumn?

What needs to be put in order as the harvest comes to closure?

How does Foolishness entertain you?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIDGET.

Summer wears her last days

a green wet coat of chill

hangs on her shoulders

Summer wears her last days

to give of her bounty

the fruit of her season

Summer wears her last days

a call to her Autumn

to rest from her giving

Summer wears her last days

quietly waiting the chill

that hangs on her shoulder

She waits to fall into the Earth

to wear the Spice coat of Autumn

  1. I really like the way you take note of the fine details of the season turning here; Autumn is a magical time, far too often overlooked for its simple beauty, and that feeling in the air that ANYTHING can happen! I especially love the last two lines…
