RE-UNION

16 sept 2011   > 20/11/2  >   judgement/lust/priestess

What do you offer at the table of life?

What does ‘standing between the worlds’ mean to you positively?

HOw do you ‘priest/priestess your communion with others?

TGIF… for me, everyday has TGI in front of it.  Heck… every darn moment.  I’m breathin’ .

Decades pass with a blast

friends of long ago find the flow

in RE-union.

Union was giving in our livin’

teenage angst was dank and always giving

we didn’t care we played and drank

told our secrets to best friends with thanks

The lair of high school was our pool

we dove and swam holding hands after school

finding friends gave us identities

betrayals created jealous enemies

Decades pass with a blast

friends of long ago find the flow

in Re-Union.

Union held our hopes so we could cope

with pom poms, big hoorays, stupid jokes

drivin’ round in Daddy’s car

never going very far

‘Kickin’ tires at Macdonalds,

giving and taking backseat fondles

Senior proms and all the circumstances

Whirlin’ twirllin’ taking chances

Decades pass with a blast

friends of long ago find the flow

in Re-Union.

The lair of high school had it’s rules

Cliques gave ways to rejection’s tools

hearts were broken everyday

HIgh school’s hall showed griefs display

Friends were broken friends were made

Friends came and laid their blade

To your heart with a little slice

With regret you threw the dice

Decades pass with a blast

friends of long ago find the flow

in Re-Union.

NOw the Unions of long ago

are ready for a history show

We meet again as long lost friends

set aside teenage angst and pride

I look to you with no regret

Embrace the memories that years forget

That we will hold these decades past

As the play ground to find life’s best

Decades pass with a blast

friends of long ago find the flow

in Re-Union.

See you soon my old high school friends

I promise to make my entrance bend

your heads in memory of our days gone by

we’ll dance and joke tell some high school lies.
