There is no kidding
Can’t kid a kidder
My kid never left me
She is alive and well
Living on good humor
with some silly and sass
Teasing me into life
Right when I need it
No kidding.
Age has nothing to do with it
It’s not about age appropriate
All the talk of the ‘inner child’
In those ‘self-help’ books
Not that I don’t get that
I get that and that and that
My ‘inner child’ has her way
Around in this journey to adulthood
Just a kid having some fun
Kidding around the self help of it
Spilling it out going with roll of it
Letting the silly have it’s way
A kid kids, and that’s the way of it
