Morning on day 4 of poetry month. Hope you’re all sippying the coffee to get your day started or what ever is the ritual that gits yer git go going. By now, you know .. coffee seeps into my blood stream every morning. Strong and dense.
The prompt today is to write something bluzy. There is a form to a blues song and I’m gonna do my best to get all lyrical and clever here…
There’s no tellin’ if I’m gonna let you in
There’s no telling if I’m gonna let you in
Baby you ain’t givin’ me enough where you bin’
Talk don’t make enough for my needs
Talk don’t make enough for my needs
Speak to me how life makes you bleed
Cause
Baby you ain’t givin’ me all your sin
Baby you ain’t givin’ me all your sin
I want more heart before I let you in
Don’t make no difference if I rattle your cage
Don’t make no difference if I rattle your cage
That cage don’t make you on my same page
Cause..
There’s no telling if I’m gonna let you in
There’s no telling if I’m gonna let you in
Some sins just let me know where you bin’
There ain’t no telling if I’m gonna let you in
