Mornin’
I’m taking a prompt from my Creativity Coach teacher, Jill Badonsky, and using it this morning. Stirring my pot up a little. AND… coupled with this prompt I am going to try and write a poetry form called Quatern.
“As the name might suggest this form consists of four, four line stanzas. As is typical of French forms there is a Refrain, but what is unusual is that there is no rhyme sequence specified.
As is normal with French poetry it consists of eight syllable lines with no meter specified.
The Refrain is the first line of the first stanza, which becomes the second line of the second stanza, the third line of the third stanza and finally the last line of the last stanza.” http://thepoetsgarret.com/2011Challenge/form7.html
And… Here it is.
“The girl on the roof…”
The girl on the roof sees heaven
Hair a riot of Autumn Spice
Twirls around her naked body
In a dance of wind and season
Tremble of energy shivers
The girl on the roof sees heaven
There is no more for her waiting
She gives herself to her story
Her eyes are orbs of golden Sun
Rays of Light caress her choices
The girl on the roof sees heaven
Perfect the time for her giving
In a riot of swirling spice
Naked last to her final breath
She gives her flight off times last edge
The girl on the roof sees heaven
