LIGHT

~

Light, Lightness, Lightly

Lighten up, Be the Light

Light the way, Go Lightly

Lightweight

Light up the room,

Hold the Light

Follow the light

Go to the light

Turn the light on

Turn the light off

Your inner light

Lightness of being

~

Shine effortlessly

Beam joyfully

Illuminate delicately

Blaze noiselessly

Brighten Buoyantly

Radiate softly

Spark fun

Beam cheerfully

Glow frivolously

Ignite amusement

~

Light, Lightness, Lightly

Lost in LaLa Land

LOST IN LaLa LAND,  A Hollywood memoir 1978’

~~

Sunset Strip lay raw and naked in the early hours

Hollywood had had a bite of my soul in the dark night

Such a quiet unseen brutal take of self-given willingly

Overtaken by the false comfort of drugs and booze

~

The pickup of idle chat moved to hungry lust imbibing

A perfect storm of Ferrari, and handsome bundled up

Danger hung in dripping stalactites over the bed

Yet unruffled as we sat on its edges before the long fall

~

 Carelessly, in Mr. GoodBar style, hunting dark mysteries

Swallowing the soft kiss deeper into my body waking

The edge ever so close for the wild jump risk of life

The tilt of the room, the wonder on his beautiful face

~

The roll of my inner storm, clouds bursting in torrent rain

Every tear that had been unshed flooded the room

Every want and wound soaked the walls, pooled the bed

Drowning was the best way to go as the vortex pull me under

~

Memory has no straight line, no sureness to how tenderness

Found the moment in the gentle arms of a stranger’s hold

Petted like a lost child found with comforting words of

“You’ll be already, You’ll be OK.”  in repeat kindness

~

Sunset Strip lay raw and naked before me as I walked it

Finding my way to my car alone unaided by my request

He gifted me with a gentleness I took to be time now

Soul healing needed a body temple safe and free.

~

I packed the VW bus with my life quaking like this land

Filled it with myself and the surrender to find myself

Taking my salty tears to the ocean to be swallowed by the tides

Barefoot in the sand the land heals the soul of me

FEELING

Feeling the mycelium beneath my feet
A woven tapestry of nurturance
A vast cooperation of life in Oneness

Feeling the giant maple whisper her rooted
story to her beloveds for as One
We thrive in the net-work of living

Feeling the air skim my flesh in the
Invisible gift of each breath offered
Clarity of purpose uninterrupted

Feeling the tears rise for the spilling
A salty sea of remembrance to be shed
For All that need to grieve in surrender

Feeling this vastness of Connection
Of how I am all that and none of it.
The Earth of me
The Heart of me
The Breath of me
The Bright Spirit of me

Feeling it all to know it All
Being it all to live it all
Breathing it all in for the sake
Of Knowing the Deep gift
of this simple
Truth

WIDE EYED AND WONDERING

14march2020

Rising up with this new day

In the brilliance of a welcoming

In the celebration of breath

Wide eyed and wondering.

`

How glorious a morning can be

Knowing the gratitude of living

Feeling life surge in every cell

The tingle of life on our surfaces

`

Wide eyed and wondering

How it can be that this dis-ease

Stalks the very air we breathe

Stalks it into great compromise

`

Each breath that supports life

Each breath that fills us up

With this morning Sun rise

Grants a facade of well being

`

Wide eyed and wondering

Knowing that this glorious

Moment is all there is

Taking it in like a baby’s first

`

Breath of innocence filling up

Out of the womb of safety

To the vibrance of daily living

On our own in witness

`

Wide eyed and wondering

We face what comes

In all our vulnerability

All our joy and skepticism

`

Wondering in the loud and

The quiet of the way life

Delivers us to each breath

Again and again

`

Can we keep our hearts

Wide open to receive

Our moments gracious

In gratitude, in accountability

~

No matter the deliverance

The gifting, the hard slams

The gentle caresses

The dis-ease that tumbles

`

Us all into fears waiting arms

Wide eyed and wondering

Can this new moment

This breath like the very first

`

Guide us back to a new day

A fresh horizon waking up

Inviting us to revel in the

Wonder, the magic, the innocence

`

Of a new day rising

Seeing with eyes from our heart

Wide open and wondering

How can we serve All this in love

FEAST ON THE SURRENDER

13 Nov. 2019

IMG_3474

Lean into the lonely places

Lay down with the shadow dancers

Listen deep into the old stories

   of imaged truths poured from

   the vessel of many yesterdays

~

Dosed in the blood of lineages

Down the drain of old hopes

Dictates passed down in the all around

    making a depository of other’s

    dreams and imaged forecasts

~

Held in the spaces of unrequited

Hid in the in-between of longing and yearn

Hold on to the thin cord of relationship

    for memories seek safe harbor in the

    stripping away what was never yours

~

Shed what was not the gift of you

Single out the spacious self’s dream

Silence the busy minds need to know

   for there is knowing in the quiet voice

   of the heart waiting for your listening

~

Feast on the surrender of release

Find comfort in the lonely places

Free up the impose of other’s dreams

   as you feel the fullness of finding yourself

   unfolding perfectly as you are

Autumn Mabon

23 SEPT 2019

Ode to Autumn

~~~~~
She makes a moist entrance
Still feeling the Summer green of herself
with blooms filling her senses
And harvest already giving to be received
~
She is a little care-less, a little nonchalant
in the how soon of spicing us up in russets
And golds, in the heart of her fire reds
and the becoming orange of green not
yet ready.
~
She will become a stellar show of her season
of radiant bliss in the ever ongoing cycle
of her presenting vivid aliveness
She returns unattended
She is a follower after all.
~
Sister Summer begs her to stay
in the green and blooms
Asking for her to wait a little
longer in the predictability of her
coming around again dressed to kill
~
The renegade in her thinks to hold
the season at bay from the request
of her beloved SisterGreen and Light
Letting the heat and rains linger
In the verdancy and lusciousness
~
And then…the inevitable rises in her
She asks the Sun to take his distance
And the trees to make way for quietude
in their letting go of summer days
She invites in the glory of the harvest
~
The sweet crunch of apples.
The rake of Summer’s release
The cool winds rising from the north
And the hungry want of Winter’s breath
Nipping at wings to to fly south
~
Falling into the  quietude of regeneration
to rise again in the inevitable cycle of
Birth, Death, Life in patterns repeat
Calling you to surrender, let go, release
Deepen into the peace of silence
~
Lay It ALL Down
12 Sept 2019
At first, I thought this a big ol’ rant as it rolled out of me onto paper.
And as I take in what I ‘lay down’ here, I felt all the truths that
came into my heart from letting it all out.  Sitting in the questions
of, “What will I lay down that gets in the way of my joy?  What will
I lay down that holds me ransom to a fear?  What will I lay down that
gives me space to include more joy and love?  What old shit keeps me
from my Sovereignty?
~
Lay it all down
In that this is a time of
the absence of reason
~
If what is unreasonable
doesn’t move you to lay Down
your used up angry
emotions, thread bare, raw to the bone
in the vast abyss of reason-lessness,
unkindness, and startling
betrayals after betrayals
Then what is?
~
Widen your despair to include
that which gave you this despair
It lives in all hearts
~
Lay down your thought
that negative badgering makes
a difference.
~
Lay down your thoughts
that rages fixes anything
~
Lay down your closed heart
in the wound conjured up by
old war games against your soul
~
Lay down the ‘better than’ and
the righteous decent, the finger
pointing, the bad mouthing.
~
Lay down any wretched thoughts
that provoke separation that places You
over Here and Them over There.
~
Lay down the thinking that
your thoughts are Not powerful
because how you think expands
that energy force a thousand fold
~
Lay down the chains that bind
you to hardness and resentment
~
Lay down what you accuse of others
as You are That too.
There in is the reflection.
There in Lives the Gift.
~
Widen your Joy
Widen your Love
Widen your Gratitude
Widen your heart
   to the inclusivity
   that you are that which you
   think of self and other
~
Take action on behalf of Love
Serve the Highest Good
Rise up to your Sovereignty
IMPOSSIBLE MAGNIFICENCE
30 April 2019
~
LIFE FORCE
This last Poem for the month of NaPoWriMo (30 poems in 30 days, of which I completed) is inspired by a Jill Badonsky prompt.
“ What impossible magnificence do you wish to grow up to be?”
~
Magnificences is the healing calm of my breath
With the sure swift shift of fear to peace with my smile
I grow into that knowing, more like a remembrance
Of an ancient time when breath and smiles were the sooth
The gentle balm that floats and flows over us all in joy
A sweet exhale and the glisten of those pearly whites give ease
Give a shivering giggle that is caught on the wind
And is carried on the breath of everyone.
CIRCLES AND LINES
29 april 2019
circle and lines
~
Circles and Lines
~
Unity lives in the Circle
A sense of connection
A field of nurturance
Guided by the moment
Living in the what’s real
Held to the rule of flow
~
A mandala of prayer
Hand to hand to hand
Heart to heart to heart
Linked together in common
With uncommon ways
finding the Way
~
A line stretches out
May move and weave
In it’s lateral expression
It has a plan, an action
An intent to conclusion
Bound in stated process
~
Straight goes this Way
Inclusion set to strict modality
A paradigm steeped in rightness
Too long holding the reign
This line needs a new paradigm
Inclusion calls for flow
~
And so we go, circles and lInes
Lines and circles in need
Of each other in the paradox
Of how one holds the other
In the differences and sameness
The line runs cold without Circle
~
Time, timelessness, yearns
for flow in the Circle glow
Rising together to heal the line
drawn between us for so long
United are we when we circle up
Sovereign each, connected to flow
~
The Day Got Away From Me
Playing in the napowrimo prompt that is a Phrase.  Day 10.
~
There goes the Day.
The day got away from me
Not Like I had some kinda hold on it
Or the twenty four hours of it
were unattended to
~
It got filled up with a multiple
of things to do and say,
to be lived in the schedule of
To be lived in the dis-order of
~
The day got away from me
And in the NaPoWriMoing
(A new verb that needed making)
Morning poem-ing is now at 9:30 pm
~
Not 8am in the bright morning
All fresh and ready to lay some
Words down cause that’s
The Inspired time
~
The day got away from me
and inspiration has dropped low
pushing out this poem
with eyes ready to close
 ~
No surprises in the ramble
Here with you reading
And thank you very much
The day just got away from me
~~~
