The Best You Got, a pantoum

day 8… NaPoWriMo

Right NOW

You gotta figure the best you got is right now

What’s done is done, what is to come is only your story

Might as well make that story good while you’re at it

Our Egos hate to live without answers

~

What’s done is done, what is to come is only your story

Energy gets wasted on time spent making shit up

Our Egos hate to live without answers

The mind will stay busy making chaos when you let it

~

Energy gets wasted on time spent making shit up

Letting the negative win feeds that clawing tale

The mind will stay busy making chaos when you let it

What the hell do you know anyway about tomorrow?

~

Letting the negative win feeds that clawing tale

You’re the only one letting that drama unfold

What the hell do you know anyway about tomorrow?

And what makes the past your motivator for today?

~

You’re the only one letting that drama unfold

Find the gratitudes, the Loves, the feel good

And what makes the past your motivator for today?

Time doesn’t have any significance in the Be Here Now

~

Find the gratitudes, the Loves, the feel good

Might as well make that story good while you’re at it

Time doesn’t have any significance in the Be Her Now

You gotta figure the best you got is right Now

LIFE ON EARTH

The stirring of the world around me in the rising of Spring’s renewal , and  the intense enveloping of the political world, give me a clear view of the duality that I rest in every day.   There is no avoiding either.    Better to settle into the greening and the thunder, then to let the angry righteousness of people fill me with fear and victimization.

Give me Earth’s Wisdoms, however it chooses to unfold.

~

Rise up to the Great Awakening

Out there is the Kingdom of God

Take wonder and awe at The Infinite

Embrace the Oneness of the Universe

~

Out there is the Kingdom of God

Standing on the lush crest looking outward

Embrace the Oneness of the Universe

Smelling the rising green of Spring’s awakening

~

Standing on the lush crest looking outward

Make witness to Creation’s magnificence

Smelling the rising green of Spring’s awakening

Take belief in the perfection of Spirit

~

Make witness to Creation’s magnificence

Darkness and Light are Earth’s gravity

Take belief in the perfection of Spirit

Know the destruction of Element’s colliding

~

Darkness and Light are Earth’s gravity

It is in their embrace that we find wholeness

Know the destruction of Element’s colliding

Love holds the soft and harsh of living

~

It is in their embrace that we find wholeness

Will you gather what soothes and what gives anguish?

Love holds the soft and harsh of living

Fear flourishes in the grip of self-righteousness

~

Will you gather what soothes and what gives anguish?

Can you swim in the pool of loneliness?

Fear flourishes in the grip of self-righteousness

Will you let in differences to end fearfulness?

~

Can you swim in the pool of loneliness?

Forgiveness is in the Spring of renewal

Will you let in differences to end fearfulness?

Gratitude is ever present in an open heart

~

Forgiveness is in the Spring of renewal

Take wonder and awe at The Infinite

Gratitude is ever present in an Open heart

Rise up to the Great Awakening

The Ending is a New Beginning

Day 30… the last day of National poetry Month.

Thank you to those who have followed and read my work.

I deeply appreciate that.

As is my favorite style of poetry, I give you a pantoum.

I will be gathering my pantoums for a poetry book.

Stay tuned.

BE HERE NOW

A day comes to sunset, a story ends, a loved one dies.

A relationship meets its closure, a beginning finds it’s end

And endings make a place for a new possibility

Life is woven in spirals, cycles of starts and finishes

~

A relationship meets its closure, a beginning finds its end

The in-betweens hold the reactions, the bitter and the sweet

Life is woven in spirals, cycles of starts and finishes

Curves and turns, betrayals and losses, the heart breaks

~

The in-betweens hold the reaction, the bitter and the sweet

The re-start is out of reach in the crush of life’s take away

Curves and turns, betrayals and losses, the heart breaks

A new day gives rise out of the dark night

~

The re-start is out of reach in the crush of life’s take away

And endings make a place for a new possibility

A new days gives rise out of the dark night

A day comes to sunset, a story ends, a loved one dies

Loss Must Have All Our Tears… a pantoum

day 26…

I dedicate this to Janine.  Sending her love and hope in this time of great sadness.

Is it a call to the ever-lasting?

Has chaos laid its final hand upon us?

Fragile are we in our unfolding from life to death

The earth body has it limitations to release the bound soul

~

Has chaos laid its final hand upon us?

There is no knowing when you will be taken or how

The earth body has it limitations to release the bound soul

And in our grief we remember the celebration of a life well lived

~

There is no knowing when you will be taken or how

Can we greet death by living to our highest and greatest good?

And in our grief we remember the celebration of a life well lived

Filling up on the gifts that love has generously given

~

Can we greet death by living to our highest and greatest good?

The Universe brings infinite vastness into our souls

Filling up on the gifts that loves has generously given

When remembrance is what holds us to what was

~

The Universe brings infinite vastness into our souls

There is no telling when we will be called into the light and dark of it

When remembrance is what holds us to what was

And loss must have all our tears.

~

There is no telling when we will be called into the Light and Dark of it

Fragile are we in our unfolding from life to death

And loss must have all our tears.

Is it a call to the ever-lasting?

It doesn’t matter how the wind will twirl

hair as milky way

day 24…

It doesn’t matter how the wind will twirl around you

You walk on the edge of innocence hopeful

There is no banner of where you have been or the road ahead

Waiting has no more options, or anything else to do

~

You walk on the edge of innocence hopeful

Life has cracked open in the unexpected way it does

Waiting has no more options, or anything else to do

Some words that live in the breeze call you out of darkness

~

Life had cracked open in the unexpected way it does

The nature of elements is to liberate life’s mysteries

Some words that live in the breeze call you out of darkness

Listening will make its demands if you’re not listening

~

The nature of elements is to liberate life’s mysteries

Senses wide open and willing will capture the innuendo

Listening will make its demands if you’re not listening

Choice has you right where it has always wanted you

~

Choice has you right where it has always wanted you

It doesn’t matter how the wind will twirl around you

They Come to Celebrate You.

day 17… NaPoWriMo

Ace of Cup.

Wholy Grail.

They come to celebrate you for your deliverance

That way you gave into your courage without pause

How life’s fire tried to burn you up and take your soul

While you pushed it all back at them in a tidal wave

~

That way you gave into your courage without pause

Healthy rage finds a way to make a riveting decision

While you pushed it all back at them in a tidal wave

A Tsunami of choices that rolled crossed all that wicked

~

Healthy rage finds a way to make a riveting decision

In that cliche of “If not now when, and if not you who?”

A tsunami of choices that rolled crossed all that wicked

You are a human shield of Will and profound goodness

~

In that cliche of “if not now, when, and if not you, who?”

We needed you and didn’t even know it till there you were

You are a human shield of Will and profound goodness

Not torn with the decision of will I, or should I, or dare I?

~

We needed you and didn’t even know it till there you were

Full on real, fearless, modeling the way a revolution gets going

Not torn with the decision of will I, or should I, or dare I?

The nature of you fights with the wisdom of love

~

Full on real, fearless, modeling the way a revolution gets going

How life’s fire tried to burn you up and take your soul

The nature of you fights with the wisdom of Love

They come to celebrate you for your deliverance.

MAKING SENSE OF THE SENSELESS a pantoum

the hokeypokey

It’s what’s ALL about

There is no making sense of the senseless

There is no taking away from whose deciding

It’s that observation each makes on their own

And sometimes, you have no sense when you think you do

~

There is no taking away from whose deciding

Some abstract convulsion penetrates filters and boundaries

And Sometime, you have no sense when you think you do

That doesn’t omit that some miracle might flutter your brain into order

~

Some abstract convulsion penetrates filters and boundaries

Conversation in steady flow doesn’t like to jump over omissions

That doesn’t omit that some miracle might flutter your brain into order

Optimism does spring eternal for those that wander the path of Joy

~

Conversation in steady flow doesn’t like to jump over omissions

Mostly, we want to say and hear some exactitude of what needs saying

Optimism does spring eternal for those that wander the path of Joy

That might not make any sense either depending on whose wandering

~

Mostly, we want to say and hear some exactitude of what needs saying

It’s that observation each makes on their own

That might not make any sense either depending on how wandering

There is no making sense of the senseless.
