TWILIGHT’S MESSENGER

Day 7, NaPoWriMo.net

CELESTIAL PAINTING

TWILIGHT’S MESSENGER

~

The whisper is louder

moving from dreamtime

moving from the way

twilight sleeps starts

the call in the waking

~

Filling cells and senses

Live streaming through

veins and capillaries

Pumping the heart in a

yet unknown intention

~

Of blood red morphing

into colour and light

Full spectrum momentum

ready to pull the arrow head

to its intended mark

~

It takes paying attention

in this quiet space between

the worlds of remembrance

and the whisk away of

forget

~

Laying the images and story

on to the blank slate of consciousness

Letting this whisper state of being

graduate to that wider awareness

of waking up to that ‘Ah Ha’

~

Whatever guidance whispers

within twilight sleep’s call

into your dreaming ears

fills your breath with wisdom

calls your heart to ache with

the want of a new understanding

~

It is yours to remember

PORTAGE LAKE SKY

~

She took her voice to the big Maple

Gave it a breathy sonnet

~

He took it in on the fresh

breeze running through his leaves

Caressing each branch and twig

~

Her story teased up and down the

trunk, rippled each word around the bark

nibbled on by fat bugs hungry for

a little poetry.

~

Crows and Sparrows

Chickadees and Woodpeckers

came to feast, filled their bellies

on plump verses and clever rhymes

Taking flight into the big blue

~

Flitting and flying

Chirping and singing

Cawing out the sonnet

for the new day to hear

Night laid herself down

2012-10-29 00.02.41

Night swallowed up all the shiny blue

It swallowed up the deep grey gloom

It swallowed up difference and likenesses

It swallowed lit corners and ate

shadows.

~

Night swallowed up the tired and depleted

the lonely and forgotten

Night swallowed up all the joys

and gratitudes, the platitudes, and honors

tucking them in for a Sunny return

~

Night came to give rest to the light

To quiet the busy mind

To give replenishment for the long day

To lay down the dreams

of possibilities

of hope,

of making better.

~

Ending the worst for a new chance

Dreams of Love and beauty that will find light

in the new day.

Herald a new Alchemy for tomorrow.

~

And maybe

Night came to have no dreams at all

save for the tender dive

into the want of nothingness

to forget regrets and disappointments

to simply fall deep down the path

of sleep.

~

Night laid Herself down

HOW COULD SHE, DARE SHE?

PACIFIC NORTHWEST 2 024

She came hard, harsh

An unexpected Storm

in a sea of discontent

on the waves of unaware.

In statements and betrayals

A tsunami of igniting

Emotions laid raw,

confused, vulnerable

~

She ripped the sails off the

Relation-ship

Tore them to shreds with

verbs and adjectives.

Giving nouns to perspectives

In the way objectivity

breaks at the heart

taking on the personal.

~

She broke the mast nearly in half

held by the ropes in angry twists

and bitter, knotted, tongues

wagging words of Heart ache

and how could she, dare she.

All caught in the rage

of the collective Exhale,

A Dragon sentinel holds the entrance

with fire breath, and stomping tail

No one in or out within the

burning belly of the

Ship of relations.

~

Her storm left the Ship in wreck

Debris lay waste and wanting

Scattered sentences and words

strewn as far as the horizon.

Waves stumbled over dying nouns

Crashing out the last yearning utterances,

and carved in the sand with strained hope

“I love you no matter what.”

Ace of Cup.

Wholy Grail.

IN THE VULNERABLE SILENCE

2015-11-21 18.23.06-2

In the grey sky, tinged with morning pink
Vulnerable are the trees in silhouette
Naked against Winter’s austerity
Leafless against the bitter cold

Roots buried deep in the frozen earth
The life blood slowed in the quietude
Staunch in the willingness to wait
For the tilt of the Earth to call to Spring

Humans know none of this at their root
Such vulnerability to Winter’s quest
For silence and the slow beat of living
Wrapped in layers of cotton and wool

Skin is not like bark to a tree
No leaves for us to lose in wait to return
Nor does our root bury itself deep
No such attachment to one place

We are of stars and wander-lust
Held to gravity and ancient stories
Held to search for what settles our root
To this short stay on this blue marble

That for today, awakens to a grey sky
With a tinge of pink in sunrise
As this season of bitter cold cycles
in the reminder of vulnerable silence
