IN THE STILLNESS SHE IS MOST LOUD

In the stillness she is most loud

Singing and dancing in the quietude

Pleased with how it is her best kept secret

Where she keeps all of her whimsy and need

All of her rage and discontent

All of her wisdom and magic

It’s where she gives voice to herself

~

She doesn’t bother with those that

Out-loud above everyone else

Those that drown her out

in their righteous verbosity,

wall-flowering her against invisible walls

and into shadow corners

Those big selves all puffed up,

swilling words of lazy drivel

as if they are the elixir

of life.

~

In the stillness the best of her resides

in the vast landscape built on dreams and

and possibilities of how imagining everything

can have a place in her everywhere

in the ease of her inner eye

and her vocal heart

always feeling in on the look out

~

In the stillness she is most loud

avoiding the surrounding ease of chaos

in the overwhelm and consume of the

bantering and battling with

Ego fervor and fuck you’s

that breed more hallowed emptiness

in the presence of so much abundance.

~

She doesn’t bother with the noise anymore

Settled into the oasis of her inner

knowing, calm in the waiting

for her time when stillness and peace

Unity and love, a good earth and water

is what the starving masses hunger for

and the revolution of the heart in it’s

deep wisdom is the loud voice calling

FIRST STEPS

DSCN9124

Curious innocence goes wide eyed forward

Slow, searching for the familiar

Quick to stop. like a wild animal

catching a scent in the wind

or wolf eyes moving past the immediate

into the woods deep with a rustle

of leaves and the snap of a twig

Fear gives sway to return the

few steps taken from all she knows

in this forest that has her alone

Unaccompanied .

Her only friend an old pine tree

that whispers it’s branches in her ears

waves it spiky fullness over her new awareness

ripples it’s bark  to reassure her

Purrs like a kitten to comfort her.

It coos the story of where the sky

hums it’s bluest self, with the golden

orb flourishing the land beyond the woods

that is parted by the whimpering river

that babbles with the telling stones.

A stone  will lead you to the place of Others.

Take this branch as proof of me to you

and the staff that is of the Others

My roots run deep and with others

They will bring you there and back

and everywhere that needs going

in the to and from.

With the tingle of feet to earth

Earth to roots signals the way.

In the pivot and move

Caroline listens far for the whimper

THIS DAY ASKS TO BE WRITTEN A CERTAIN WAY

DAY 12  National poetry Month.

dove.germany

This day asks to be written in a certain way

Resistance makes a plea of discord

And brain chaos finds its way back on track

if only to give into the ‘certain way’ to be over it

Finish with this day that has only just given rise

~

It’s memory history that defines the lay of words

How death’s stalk took two lives on the exact day of one year

Between the other, while Spring stretched her waking

and the two of you gave in to sleep eternal

~

On this day, this very day that calls up an ode

a story, a simple verse that can not be denied

For you are forever in the bones of this body

Forever a picture of yesterdays remembered

~

And there is a must have of celebration

Acknowledgement of how life comes and gives

and seems to end in that final breath taken

In how very gone you are in this life.

~

There can be no resistance to that call

Cause it’s a time clock inside that spills

Out the alarm of your passing to be recalled

To sit in the heart’s pulse of the ‘who’ of you

~

Of love lost and found, of rough edges

slightly smoothed and how a want to make connection

held so many distractions and avoidances.

And still, on this day of remembrance

~

I let you both in in the way I can hold you

In my heart to give the words to this day

That need saying to honor you

I love you

Till we meet again

MAKING SENSE OF THE SENSELESS a pantoum

the hokeypokey

It’s what’s ALL about

There is no making sense of the senseless

There is no taking away from whose deciding

It’s that observation each makes on their own

And sometimes, you have no sense when you think you do

~

There is no taking away from whose deciding

Some abstract convulsion penetrates filters and boundaries

And Sometime, you have no sense when you think you do

That doesn’t omit that some miracle might flutter your brain into order

~

Some abstract convulsion penetrates filters and boundaries

Conversation in steady flow doesn’t like to jump over omissions

That doesn’t omit that some miracle might flutter your brain into order

Optimism does spring eternal for those that wander the path of Joy

~

Conversation in steady flow doesn’t like to jump over omissions

Mostly, we want to say and hear some exactitude of what needs saying

Optimism does spring eternal for those that wander the path of Joy

That might not make any sense either depending on whose wandering

~

Mostly, we want to say and hear some exactitude of what needs saying

It’s that observation each makes on their own

That might not make any sense either depending on how wandering

There is no making sense of the senseless.

THE SKY HAS BEEN CRYING FOR DAYS

I 94 Outside of Chelsea, mi

I 94 Outside of Chelsea, mi

I 94 MICHIGAN

I 94 MICHIGAN

In my little part of the MidWest, it’s been raining and raining, and then raining some more.

There is so much goodness in the rain;  the way the thunder rolls right through you, energizing.

The way those clouds gather and grey in the vast turbulence, bursting with storm.

Rain is a desired want for so many places on the Earth.  It comes to some and not to others.

Like too much humidity in the summer that I really am not fond of, I hesitate to critique the rain’s giving.

And… I’m ready for the clouds to open to blue and the sun’s more tender touch to the earth.

I want a whisper of cool breeze all over me.

So… these are my poems for these rainy days…

~~~~~~~
The sky has been crying for days
Laid it’s flood all over the land
Surely those crocodile tears come
from a galactic belly laugh at us
fools held to gravities pull of the
Earth’s collaboration with the Heavens
~~~~~

A Pantoum…

The sky has been crying for days

Giving giant heaving belly laughs

Profound thunderous sobs of grief

Earth collaborates with the Heavens

Giant heaving belly laughs

When the world isn’t being comical

Earth collaborates with the Heavens

Seeking joy and goodness in the wherever

When the world isn’t being comical

When desperation, hunger, and war win

Seeking joy and goodness in the wherever

There is enough of everything for everyone

When desperation, hunger and war win

Profound, thunderous sobs of grief

There IS enough of everything for everyone

The sky has been crying for days

~~~~
HAIKU
The sky cries for days
Poems gather in the tearing
Flooding shares herself
WE ARE NOT THE ONLY EXPERIMENT
“…We are not the only experiment”    Buckminster Fuller
This poem is from a prompt that invited me to choose a random quote and take the last few words of it and make it my own.
Photo 13
We are not the only experiment.
We are The experiment torn from the heavens
of infinite possibilities to a finite moment
of existence in the experience of polar chaos.
Three dimensional duality reality
And it’s some other infinite Beings
reality show.
.
We are not the only experiment
laid to the Universal pertri-dish
of spinning galaxies in Milky Ways
of murky existence to see how humanoids
will get along in the radicalization of duality
In the dark and light of it all
In the rotational up and down and
all around of the Hokey Pokey
with all yourself in wether you wanted
in or out in this dance of Being-ness.
.
And it is all about the left and right
of you stepping into this Circle of Life
on this planet in it’s petri-dish we think is
floating out there in the vast somewhere
Not on that shelving unit that has no end
to it,  Of old men, agelessly ambling
down the corridor of infinite everything
eyeballing each piece of Infinity to
see if one of us can make this Earth
thing work.
.
Can we get along and survive?
Can we steward abundance ?
Can we Love unconditionally?
.
We ARE NOT the only experiment
In Infinity’s Infinite and we will find our
way Home sooner or later
To A Stony Beach
Glen Arbor Beach
Glen Arbor Beach
Into the quiet calm blue sky
Breeze a whisper tap
to what clings to sand and stone
Clear lake gives licks
to the stony beach in soft repeat
Sun gives all his heat for Spring rising
.
There is no hurry in this day
Only the call to ease and breath
In the slow sink of steps along the shore
Eyes called to the stony hope of treasure
And the shimmer lake smells of winter’s retreat
A distant buoy rings it’s caution
.
Too far away for the care of this wander
Seeking stony fortune a pirate’s quest
A dazzle of gold, a ring of emerald
A chalice, a charm, a chest of stolen bounty
when now, a stone will do, an empty shell
a bit of washed to smooth wood.
.
A wanderer, a pirate, a youth remembered
Into the quiet calm blue sky
With no hurry to the day
Far away from the careless
