I Make Waves Not Ripples

26 April 2019

~

There is longing in those dark blue pools

When you look this way, the way you did

all those years ago

~

The pebble of my leaving still leaves a

faint ripple ring around your heart

I can feel it come for me

~

I am the shore feeling the dark waters

of your heart tap, tap, against my edges

They are caught in the moss of me

~

All that moist yearning feeding

on the green verdancy of my becoming

I no longer swimming in you

~

Past the treading of water to catch

all my breath back to myself

You can not pull me under

~

Buoyant, diving with the sharks

wrapped in jelly fish and barracuda

your pools are a puddle

~

And I breathe under water now

I make waves not ripples

I am the emerald sea

~
