What are we slipping into

Days slip into each other
Like they are liquid, viscus
Even a little rubbery, stretchy
We presumed them to be different
Because the calendar says that's so

Only.

Days keep slipping into each other
A strive to make them different
make them defined from what was yesterdays
breakfast, a different route for that
dog walk, shift feeding the animals first
making coffee the priority, showering in
the afternoon instead of after morning chores
Connecting with friends in the middle of
the day, sitting around in wonder of this
time that has no time stamp.

Because

These days, they keep slipping into forgetting
Slipping away from the predictable
Slipping away from the rituals,
Slipping away from the define productivity
of the familiar that now must flow into change

We

Are Slipping from the ways that demand that of us
Not because it's a slippery slope or that
we might slip on our asses and make us the fool
No, this slip and slide routine is the order of
these new days, a pandemic reprograming to release
the old, the uselessness, the unimportant habits that

Must

Be slipped into like a tight woven chrysalis
So that when we melt, dissolve from our old self
we morph into our new self resolved, renewed
We push, we crack, we hurt, we scream, we weep
and are re-birthed in a new paradigm of renewal
We slip into the arms of this unknown and
become fully realized in the only Truth

Love

A REMEMBRANCE

I had no good byes for you just your name on my altar
Our reckoning happened long ago with so much pain
It was a hard forgiveness in the way-back-then
That came easy once my heart gave to that spaciousness
And compassion paid my soul a visit asking for everything
There could be nothing less than that full surrender
Nothing less that a complete turn to Love no matter what

I leaned fully into those tender arms of absolution
Betraying expectations desire to have to have it returned
To have to make an equal exchange of emotional fairness
Covered with all Sunny sparkle and pop-up love emojis
I did it for me on behalf of a deeper love that rose
in the giving, in the let go, in the instant of full clarity

Like the Sun came and burned my insides clean of that hurt
An unexpected Phoenix rising from the death of a long ago
Child wound dissolving away in the ocean of my heart
That vastness makes me quake and wonder of this truth
Beating gently in the center of my chest, a steady pulse
A'Yes' set free in the never have to go around again

I will alway remember you. You were my first paradox
Rest in peace

QUIET

In the quiet is when I hear myself
The steady beat of my heart
the echo crackling pulse in my ear
The questions my skin asks of me
like...
When will you rub cream on me?
Why haven't you let me feel the wind today?
I hear the Sun calling to me
Will you take your face to greet him?

The quiet doesn't sneak up on me
She doesn't really do anything overt
Or show any change in her weather
She is simply define by a lack of noise
By the clarity of the air
The ripening freshness
As green returns to the once Wintered land

Quiet doesn't claim any particular season
There isn't one element or another
That she aligns herself with
There is no vitriol to her presence
No pressing want of need given or asked for
She doesn't make any demands of any kind
She simply is.

When all the busy, all the over achieving
All the doing, the placating, the perfecting
the absoluting, the info gathering, and chatter
Stops
Quiet arrives in her not-very-fancy attire
She's really quite naked, vulnerable
Unimpressive might be what some think
As she seems small and lacking in personality
With nothing at all to say. Not a word
Not a thought, emptiness, a void

That's when I know she's here
In the stillness, the silence
Sitting next to me, in me
Quiet is the most tender part
of my heart, a deep well of waiting
Every answer I ever needed to know
arrives in her eternal presence.

THERE IS NO NORMAL

Make mention of the new normal
Thinking that there ever really has been
A normal

A relativity decided by whomever is talking
from the lens of their perspective
we're all talking

LIfe's axis is making a big shift
A quantum move, a flow with or not
You decide how you will shift

Never think that Mother Earth will Not win
Her lung power far surpasses all of us combined
What's essential will win

There is NO normal in any of our days
We made up what we thought we needed
Illusions made safe our days

What is the essential left when all is surrendered?
Habitualized rituals laid waste to what was
And our very breath is surrendered

The Breath of Us

day 4... napowrimo.net.

A pantoum

We are having the very breath of us taken from us
Then, the sky shows blue in the most polluted cities
Mama Gaia says no more of this suffocation
And the dolphins begin to breathe better underwater

Then the sky shows blue in the most polluted cities
It's in the stop, the slow down, the no more busy
And the dolphins begin to breathe better underwater
The Earth is quick to show how it can be healed by us

It's in the stop, the slow down, the no more busy
We begin to thrive in the quietude; the stillness of a day
The Earth is quick to show how it can be healed by us
It takes a global pandemic for us to begin to hear Her

We begin to thrive in the quietude; the stillness of a day
Settling in to what it feels like to listen more clearly to the all around
It takes a global pandemic for us to begin to hear Her
She has never been a quiet voice, we have simply drowned her out

Settling in to what it feels like to listen more clearly to the All around
Mama Gaia says no more of this suffocation
She has never been a quiet voice, we have simply drowned her out
We are having the very breath of us taken from us.

The Meaning of These Days

The Meaning of These Days.      NaPoWriMo.  Day 1

2013-06-06 21.10.46-3

There is meaning to these days

that drift by in the quiet sequester

of the unknown in each moments breath

Listening to the invitation from Spring rising

in her gay green garment, pushing through the impossible

hard cold earth that splits her cracks open for the birth push

For a small sprout to give her face to the Sun, feel the rain’s nurture

sway in the wind’s welcome

There is meaning to these days

that have us held to quarantine, to ‘shelter’

on behalf for the great well being of All

Settling into the quiet, the silence, the

slow down from the better-stay-busy’s

illusion of true purpose when all around us

what was once normal, standard, ‘the way

of things’, holds us all to the unknown of

everything.

What were rituals and daily bread

Turn upside down

What were the purposeful doings of making a living

Shut down

What held us to a monetary system of illusive security

Closed down

What ways to fight a dis-ease that has no cure we

Hunker down

Become the quiet and the stillness

is Earth’s invitation

in a shifting pattern,

a readjustment,

a new calibration of life,

desperate to renew us all,

to rebirth a New Earth

To be still and contemplate

To listen to the all around and within

Earth wisdom is the meaning of these days

We can make meaning of these days

IMPOSSIBLE MAGNIFICENCE

30 April 2019

~

LIFE FORCE

This last Poem for the month of NaPoWriMo (30 poems in 30 days, of which I completed) is inspired by a Jill Badonsky prompt.

“ What impossible magnificence do you wish to grow up to be?”

~

Magnificences is the healing calm of my breath

With the sure swift shift of fear to peace with my smile

I grow into that knowing, more like a remembrance

Of an ancient time when breath and smiles were the sooth

The gentle balm that floats and flows over us all in joy

A sweet exhale and the glisten of those pearly whites give ease

Give a shivering giggle that is caught on the wind

And is carried on the breath of everyone.

CIRCLES AND LINES

29 april 2019

circle and lines

~

Circles and Lines

~

Unity lives in the Circle

A sense of connection

A field of nurturance

Guided by the moment

Living in the what’s real

Held to the rule of flow

~

A mandala of prayer

Hand to hand to hand

Heart to heart to heart

Linked together in common

With uncommon ways

finding the Way

~

A line stretches out

May move and weave

In it’s lateral expression

It has a plan, an action

An intent to conclusion

Bound in stated process

~

Straight goes this Way

Inclusion set to strict modality

A paradigm steeped in rightness

Too long holding the reign

This line needs a new paradigm

Inclusion calls for flow

~

And so we go, circles and lInes

Lines and circles in need

Of each other in the paradox

Of how one holds the other

In the differences and sameness

The line runs cold without Circle

~

Time, timelessness, yearns

for flow in the Circle glow

Rising together to heal the line

drawn between us for so long

United are we when we circle up

Sovereign each, connected to flow

~

IT’S NOT TIME YET

28 April 2019

A pantoum

~

It’s not the time yet for leaving

There is still breath and sight

Still the gathering of thoughts

In the construct of living

~

There is still breath and sight

And so much more to share, to say

In the construct of living

In the coming of unbearable loss

~

And so much more to share, to say

Heart to heart exchange, a steady beat

In the coming of unbearable loss

When the Infinite has you again

~

Heart to heart exchange, a steady beat

The feel of false permanency rising

When the Infinite has you again

And your soul travels the vast unknown

~

The feel of false permanency rising

A surrender of gravitational pull on life

And your soul travels the vast unknown

Having to let go of this mundane living

~

A surrender of gravitational pull on life

As the Divine essence of Spirit calls

Having to let go of this mundane living

These pleasure of physical reality releasing

~

As the Diving essence of Spirit calls

Still the gathering of thoughts

These pleasures of physical reality releasing

It’s not the time yet for leaving

~

WHAT WONDER IS THAT?

27 April 2019

ALICE

~

Wonder has magic in it

That mystery of not yet knowing

In the wide eyed, bright eyed

Mischief that lives in the question

~

Of Wonder why, wonder how

Wonder when, wonder what

In the living day lights is That

Glitch in the fabric of the Universe

~

That shimmering, quivering

Anomaly of patterns you thought

Could not possibly shape shift

Into a new paradigm

~

The check list of what is, isn’t

What isn’t, is, and then nothing

You feel into the ‘all fucked-up-ness’

And wonder, what will happen next

~

Or is the deceive of your eyes,

The betrayal of your mind

The crack in your wanting heart

Leading you down Alice’s hole

~

There will be dinner with The Rabbit

And that Queen with no Heart

Will march you more deeply into

The fantasy cause she wondered

You into Being

~
